Due to the damp weather and cool nights, Brown Patch fungus is making the rounds. There are a few ways to handle Brown Patch;
- Chemical fungicide: simply purchase and use a fungicide that treats BP. You can purchase at hardware stores or Amazon. We highly recommend top-dressing the lawn with compost after treating.
- Organic: purchase and use MicroLife organic Brown Patch treatment. You can purchase at hardware stores. Again, we highly recommend top dressing the lawn with compost after treating.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Make sure your sprinklers are turned off for the winter. Too much water causes Brown Patch fungus.

Weather is forecasting a POSSIBLE freeze over the next couple of weeks. Get ahead of the game and buy freeze cloth now, you'll be happy you did! You can buy at most hardware stores and on Amazon. If you're not sure what to cover, ask here.

Our gardens are loving these warm temps! Don't be tempted to start cutting anything back. If we do get a freeze, new cuts will freeze and harm or kill the plant. Remember to water during this warm streak if it doesn't rain!

Eagleston Holly is a fantastic evergreen tree for privacy. They’re very drought tolerant and not particularly susceptible to pests and disease. This is a great time of year to plant Holly so it has plenty of time to get rooted before it gets hot again!

Everyone is already thinking about what to cover in the event of a freeze. When we had a freeze that lasted for multiple days, only a few types of plants actually died. Everything else slowly came back. If you have questions on specific plants, please ask here in the comments and we'll let you know if it should be covered or not. Also, buy your freeze cloth early!

Fall is the best time to have your lawn aerated. Lawn aeration is the process of puncturing the lawn's surface with small holes to help air, water, and nutrients better pe*****te the soil for healthy grass. Aeration reverses the effects of soil compaction which causes the soil to become almost impenetrable. This makes it almost impossible for air, water, and nutrients to reach the ground.
Our soil is very compacted due to the clay and needs to be aerated annually. Once aerated, the lawn should be top-dressed with quality compost and a winterizer. Call us today to get a quote!
