What happens when it rains during pool construction? 🌧️

The answer depends on the phase of construction. While some work can continue, certain stages need to wait for better conditions to ensure everything is done correctly.

With rain in the forecast most of this week, our crews may be limited in what can happen on-site, but we’re still hard at work behind the scenes—finalizing designs, preparing proposals, pulling permits, coordinating schedules, and planning upcoming projects.

Weather delays are part of building custom pools, but our commitment to quality and communication never takes a rain day.

Rainy days are a good reminder that a well-built pool is about much more than how it looks on sunny afternoons.

Proper drainage, elevation planning, equipment installation, deck slopes, and attention to detail all play a role in protecting your investment when the weather doesn’t cooperate.

The beautiful finishes get the attention, but the work behind the scenes is what keeps everything performing for years to come.

Demo is officially complete on our Bentwater remodel, and now it’s time to start bringing this backyard back to life.

The demolition phase isn’t always the prettiest part of the process, but it’s one of the most important. A successful remodel starts with a solid foundation, and we’re preparing this space for a complete transformation.

Day 2 and this Katy pool is officially ready for gunite.

Yesterday’s excavation hit an unexpected snag when equipment broke down late in the day. By this morning, we had a mechanic on-site, finished the dig, installed rebar, completed the stub-out plumbing, and kept the project right on schedule.

Things happen in construction. We take pride in how we respond when they do.

Big progress today at our Texas Grand Ranch project! 💪

We started framing a massive 30-foot outdoor kitchen that will become a centerpiece of this backyard.

At Thompson Custom Pools, we build outdoor kitchens using aluminum framing, Hardie board cladding, and premium stone or tile finishes. No combustible materials, no shortcuts, and no surprises down the road.

We have rebuilt several outdoor kitchens that were originally framed with wood and caught fire. 🔥
