The goal was to create a purple that stands out without overpowering the overall palette, while remaining consistent across every panel and in every light condition.

No drift and no surprises, just a controlled and repeatable result. That level of control starts in our lab. 🧪

📍Lewis Estates Fire Hall | Edmonton, AB

In a climate like Edmonton, facade performance is non negotiable. Freeze thaw cycles, temperature swings, and long term durability all have to be considered early in the design process.

For the Lewis Estates Fire Hall, performance requirements were met without limiting a more expressive design approach.

A custom facade pattern, Midnight Dispatch, was developed in collaboration with artist Victoria Wiercinski, drawing inspiration from Alberta’s night skies and the movement of the Northern Lights.

The result is a facade that integrates local identity into the building while maintaining the level of performance required for the environment.

Performance should not limit design. It should support it. 👏

New Project Spotlight | Tottenville High School 🏫

Not every high school chooses purple. This one did.

We’re kicking off production soon on the new John Drennan Athletic Field House at Tottenville High School in Staten Island, and the choice of a purple facade is anything but standard. 💜

It's a design choice that gives the new field house identity before you even step inside. Because color like this doesn’t get added later. It’s decided early and carried through to fabrication.

That’s where UHPC changes what’s possible. Consistent color. Durable material. No compromise to the design.

We’re excited to get the production process underway and see NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) and AECOM's vision come to life!

This past weekend, the Envel and SHApe Architectural team proudly returned to the City of South Bend - Municipal Government Global Cup —this year with our leadership team joining in!

It was inspiring to see our colleagues from diverse backgrounds unite on the field, celebrating the global roots that shape who we are. The tournament was more than just a game—it was a reminder of the teamwork, collaboration, and shared spirit that drive Envel and SHApe forward. 💪

Juan brings a wealth of experience in leadership development and employee learning, having designed impactful workshops and HR processes across various industries. His collaborative spirit, clear communication, and dedication to continuous improvement make him a perfect fit for our team.

Juan holds a Bachelor's in Psychology from Universidad Latina in Costa Rica, supported by Arizona State University, and a Master's in Organizational Psychology and Human Resources from Universitat Jaume I in Spain.
