A neighbor here in Maineville had a leaking bathtub that caused water damage to their beautifully finished basement. By the time I got the call, the damaged ceiling had already been removed, flooring pulled up to check for mold, and everything was dried out.
My job was the restoration - making the repairs as seamless, neat, and stress-free as possible for these retired homeowners. When they asked what they needed to do or get, I told them: “Just let me in the door. I’ll take care of the rest.”
And I did just that.
Day one, I set up my work area with dust barrier walls and a vacuum system that removes air from within the work area - creating negative pressure so dust can’t escape. Their home stayed clean while I worked. This was their finished basement with lots of memorabilia and personal touches that needed protecting. The system worked flawlessly.
New drywall hung, finished, taped, primed, and painted. Two boxes of flooring replaced to blend perfectly. Trim installed. Window treatments hung back up.
This project spanned 6 days to allow proper curing time for drywall compound between coats. You can’t rush quality.
Here’s the thing - the paint department gave me the wrong sheen. The clients said it was “good enough,” but I made an extra trip to get it right. If my name’s on it, it meets my standards.
The CleanHutz Pledge in action:
∙ Dust barrier walls + negative pressure system = zero dust outside work area
∙ HEPA filtration throughout
∙ Left it cleaner than I found it
∙ Zero stress for the homeowner
The clients were ecstatic - even tipped well on top of the project cost.
If you’re dealing with water damage aftermath or just want a handyman who won’t add stress to your life - that’s what I do.
