Investing in the future of Shankland Renovation.
This week I completed my FAA Part 107 Small UAS Recurrent Training, bringing my commercial drone certification back current.
I originally earned my Part 107 certification several years ago while working as a land surveyor. Although I wasn't actively using it after changing careers, I recently made the decision to renew it as another investment in my business and the services I provide to my clients.
Drone technology has become an invaluable tool for aerial photography and videography, roof and exterior inspections, project documentation, and showcasing completed renovations from perspectives that simply aren't possible from the ground.
At Shankland Renovation, I'm always looking for ways to improve—not only through craftsmanship, but by investing in education, technology, and professional development that benefits my clients.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted Shankland Renovation with your homes. I'm excited to begin sharing more aerial photos and videos as we continue building with Conscious Integrity Crafted.

Just wrapped up this TimberTech Vintage Coastline deck rebuild at Wamplers Lake.

This project included a complete deck rebuild with new framing, 12" on-center joists, picture-framed decking, custom stairs, and new railing posts ready for the final railing system.

One thing we enjoy at Shankland Renovation is working with homeowners who want to be involved in their projects. In this case, the homeowner handled the demolition of the existing deck and will be installing the railing system and fascia boards himself.

Not every homeowner wants or is able to take on portions of a project, but for those who do, there can be meaningful cost savings. We're happy to discuss options and work together to find the right balance between professional installation and homeowner participation.

Whether you're looking for a complete turnkey project or want to tackle part of the work yourself, we're always willing to have that conversation.

Today I’d like to take a minute to highlight Patricia Korican with Korican Real Estate.
https://www.korican.com/

Most of the time on this page I’m showcasing the projects we complete, the renovations, repairs, and transformations behind the scenes. But on projects like this, it is important to recognize the people driving the vision and making these homes market ready in the first place.
I recently completed another prep for sale project for Patricia, and working alongside her continues to reinforce why she is so successful in this industry.
She has a strong understanding of today’s market, a sharp eye for what matters, and the ability to make confident decisions that move a project forward efficiently.
This particular project included extensive drywall repair, a near full interior repaint, light fixture swap-outs, and new luxury vinyl tile flooring, all focused on bringing the home to market in its best possible condition while maximizing return on investment for the seller.
Patricia knows how to position a home to stand out. She understands what buyers are looking for, what adds value, and what improvements make the biggest impact without overspending unnecessarily. That level of direction and commitment makes a huge difference when preparing a home for sale.
I’ve also had the opportunity to work with Patricia on rental properties she manages, and that same level of professionalism carries through there as well. She stays on top of the needs and upkeep of the properties while also working hard to create a positive experience for the renters themselves. That balance is not easy to maintain, and it speaks to the level of care and attention she brings to her work.
Beyond that, she is relentless when it comes to advocating for her clients. Whether helping buyers secure the right home or helping sellers maximize the value of their property, she puts in the work and genuinely cares about the outcome.
It is always a pleasure working for her, and I’m beyond grateful that my phone rings when she needs something done. I truly appreciate the continued opportunity to work alongside professionals who take pride in doing things the right way.

If you're flooring contractor doesn't remove base board prior to installation, it's a problem.
If they install white shoe moldings on wood stained base and wood grain floors it becomes my problem.....
Remember just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
