So, I see a lot of folks here in our community say they need a "licensed" contractor for this project or that remodel but they never ask for references. After recently completing a ton of repairs for a client after a "licensed" contractor out of Shelbyville burnt her for around $20k or so id like to share an example of what a licensed contractor, who happens to actually have a ton of complaints in these local groups for our community, could possibly do to your home if you're more worried about a license than references or if you don't look into the folks who you may hire. This post really isn't to bash another contractor as I won't mention them by name. This is more of a wise word to the masses... Get references for any contractor you may hire! If you can't find good, or better yet, great references for a company or guy you're looking to hire to complete contracting work, find one in which you can!! Pics below are of the disaster this home owner was left with. Explanations in the captions!! Beware! Don't give away your life savings to have someone just take it and destroy what you worked god knows how many years to have... These weren't even all of the issues but I think it's enough to get the point across!! There are a few of us good guys left out here doing fantastic work for reasonable rates and have nothing but great reviews!! You don't have to resort to folks who have no intention of doing you right!!!
