A beautiful home isn’t created by a single furniture piece, paint color, or renovation.

It’s created when every decision works together.

The right scale.
The right proportions.
The right lighting.
The right layout.
The right balance between function and beauty.

Whether you’re furnishing a newly purchased home, refreshing a room that no longer works for your lifestyle, or planning a future renovation, thoughtful planning is what transforms a collection of things into a home that feels cohesive, comfortable, and uniquely yours.

Because when the planning is right, the entire project feels effortless.

One of the projects I worked on years ago taught me an important lesson.

Luxury isn’t created by adding things.

It’s created by editing.

When architecture, landscape, materials, and proportion work together, a space feels calm, effortless, and timeless.

That’s a principle I still bring to every project today.

Proportion is what makes a room feel settled.

Not louder. Not fuller. Better aligned.

When scale, spacing, and alignment are resolved early, a home feels calm long before the styling layer is added.

The best interiors are rarely accidental.

This project will always be one of my favorites.

Not because of the finishes, but because of how the house feels.

Good design isn’t about adding more. It’s about creating balance—between architecture, furnishings, light, and proportion—so a home feels effortless to live in.

Whether I’m helping a client refresh a room or planning a major renovation, the goal is the same: make thoughtful decisions that improve how the home functions and feels.

Because when the planning is right, the entire project feels effortless.

Before finishes, there is structure.

Most kitchens are designed from the surface inward.

I approach them the opposite way—starting with circulation, proportion, and how the space needs to function before materials are ever selected.

That’s what makes a space feel resolved.

Planning a renovation or new build? Send me a message.

Restraint is a design skill.

This room was designed for a chandelier.
I ultimately removed it because it fought the architecture instead of supporting it.

Sometimes the strongest decision is subtraction.

Most of what makes a home feel calm is decided before anything is visible.

Start with circulation.

Where you enter.
Where you pause.
What you see first.

When this is resolved early, the house settles.

When it isn’t, the space starts compensating—
and no finish fully resolves it.

When the plan is right, the materials can stay quiet.

If you want a second set of eyes before construction begins, message me.

A closet is not storage.
It is a daily sequence.

If the first thing you see is clutter, the day starts in friction.

This is resolved at the plan level.

Before anything is built, the space needs to account for:
• what is hung
• what is folded
• what is reached for without thinking

And just as importantly—
the clearances that allow it to stay that way.

When this isn’t considered early, the system breaks down.
Not because of the finishes—
but because of the plan.

If you want a second set of eyes before construction begins, message me.

Most dining rooms feel tight for a reason. The table was sized for the room— but the room wasn’t planned around the table.

Circulation comes first.

Before anything is selected, the space needs to account for:
• movement around the table
• Chairs in use—not just how they sit for a photo.
• how the room connects to adjacent spaces

When that isn’t resolved early, the room starts negotiating with itself. Chairs hit walls. Paths narrow. The space never quite settles.

This isn’t a furniture issue.
It’s a planning decision.

If you want a second set of eyes before construction begins, message me.

Every decision shapes the home’s future.

Finishes don’t fix a plan.

If the layout, proportions, and circulation aren’t resolved first, no material will make the space feel right.

The work happens early — quietly, and often unseen.

That’s what separates a space that looks designed from one that actually works.

If you’re in the early stages, message me to begin.
