Sometimes it doesn’t have to be complicated to build a good garden bed.
As a gardener you should use what you have around you to aid in your growing of what ever plants you desire.
Here is a raised bed I just built that is 2 ft tall and are 2ft wide by 8 ft in length. Now if you were to fill that completely with high quality soil and compost that could be pretty expensive as a initial investment to start a garden.
Use what you got laying around, save leafs and fill your beds first with sticks and organic matter like your compost pile if you have one.
I filled this bed with chopped maple wood, sunflower and plant stalks from last year, a dead and decomposed root ball I pulled out of the yard. Some compost from the center of my composting bins and then finishing it off with Smokey’s blend living soil.
