Meet Shorty. He is a foster and learning how to be a good boy. This was yesterday, his first day out helping with chores without being on leash. He was unadoptable in the shelter because he had a lot of fear. In fact, he had to be trapped to get him off the streets. The rescue that pulled him couldn't handle him in a small yard, so thought of us. He is completely in love with and trusting of Christopher Sherman and he's warming up to me.
Hopefully someone will want him when his rehab is complete. He's cute, about 8 months old, uses the doggie door, bathrooms outside 100%. He's neutered and vaccinated already. He isn't aggressive with cats, poultry, goats, or horses so far, and he calls off when he does get 'too interested'.
It's really interesting that when running a solid pack that is used to welcoming visiting dogs how soon the visitor learns the rules without a lot of input from us.
Also, the Guardian dogs will chase away neighbor/unwelcome dogs that come by; ones we don't introduce to them.
