We hope this information helps.

After last nights snow and ice, dont forget to check your heat pump (outdoor unit) for an excessive amount of ice accumulation. This accumulation can block airflow causing reduced capacity and efficiency. Also, as the ice melts naturally. It can cause icicles to form locking up the fan blades. If left unattended it could possibly burn up the motor creating a costly repair. We hope this helps.
Stay warm, stay safe!

Hello everyone.
We haven’t posted in a while but with frigid temperatures moving in next week, it’s time to prepare.
Here are just a few things to keep in mind before the cold-front moves in.

OIL FURNACE OWNERS:
If you have an oil furnace, make sure you have plenty of oil in your tank.
Now is the time to order. During these times oil delivery company’s need a few days to process and deliver your order, so don’t wait. When you know the oil delivery company is coming, turn your furnace off and leave off for a few hours after putting oil in the tank. This will allow and debris in the tank to settle to the bottom and not plug up your oil filter, nozzle, or pump screen.
Also, if you have an above ground tank install a bottle of fuel oil treatment such as “Hot Shot” to dissipate water, keep from gelling, and prevent freezing. This can be found at tractor supply or auto parts store. Follow directions on the bottle.

PROPANE FURNACE OWNERS:
Now Is the time to check your fuel level in your tank. If your tank gauge is reading 40% or below you may want to call your supplier and request a fuel delivery.
Keep in mind, now is the time to call as the delivery company needs time to process and deliver the fuel.

HEAT PUMP/DUAL FUEL OWNERS:
Make sure you have enough fuel in your tank. Leave your thermostat at its normal temperature in the “Heat” mode. Recommended setting between 68-70 degrees.
Prepare yourself for longer or continuous run cycles during these extreme outdoor temperature’s.

As with all above heat sources:

Don’t forget to replace your air filter if needed.
Install or check your Co detectors.
Make sure all your supply air vents are open and not blocked.
Leave your thermostat at its normal temperature and prevent any temperature setbacks in the thermostats scheduling from happening, or put in the “Hold” mode.
Leave your faucets open with a slow stream of water to prevent frozen pipes.
Have a backup source of heat in case of equipment failure or power outage.
As always, don’t forget to check on your neighbors and the elderly.
Stay in, stay safe, and stay warm.
