Leland is an 8 year old, from east TX who has always had a passion for learning. While looking for ways to pass the time during his sisters dance class, Leland became interested in trips to Lowes to look at plants. Purchasing a plant each trip became expensive over time but his interest in plants was something I wanted to foster because I love ANYTHING that keeps his mind SHARP, & of course minimal “screen time.” We eventually began purchasing the plants from the clearance rack. Most the time this meant they weren’t in the best shape BUT we only spent $.50 - $5 each trip! He also began picking up the little leaves (newbies) on the ground. (A win for me) With supervision he started researching these plants, their care instructions, life spans, & even more impressive how to propagate them. He eventually learned how to nurse these plants back to health through trial and error. He has his own terms, & processes but hey something is working! Other than this initial post, we’ve agreed Leland will take over this page to post the plants he’s ready to sell, (currently he occupies all my window space) to share if he’s gotten a new one, interesting facts about others, and to teach us his terminology.
