FUN FACT FRIDAY (Before and After Edition)

We’ve had quite a few new followers around here lately, so I figured I’d re-introduce myself. I’m James, owner of Smithers Home Maintenance, and here are a few things you probably don’t know about me!

1. I spent a chunk of my childhood living in Haiti, where I had a pet goat named, very creatively…Billy….

2. My sock game has been going strong for more than 35 years, as evidenced by my (almost) knee-high socks and shorts…

3. And apparently, I found my signature photo pose at a very young age. Arms folded. Every. Single. Time. Some things never change.

A lot changed in this before & after!

We started by removing the dated built-in cabinet and railing, along with a mix of carpet, hardwood, and old plank flooring throughout the space.

From there, we installed new LVP flooring and quarter round, plus new cabinets and countertops to bring everything together.
It’s amazing how much more open and updated the space feels now.

Meet Daisy!

This VERY sweet girl is currently up for adoption at the Toledo Humane Society. Daisy can be a little shy at first, but give her some time to warm up, and you’ll quickly see just how sweet she is.

She’s looking for the right person or family to give her a safe place to settle in and call home.

We planned a celebration for hitting 100 five-star Google reviews…except…

By the time we actually got around to celebrating, we weren’t at 100 anymore.

We were at ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY!

Twenty MORE five-star reviews than the milestone we originally planned the celebration for. And honestly, I couldn’t be more proud.

As the owner of Smithers Home Maintenance, I’m incredibly thankful for this entire team—the crew out on the jobs every day and the team working behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

FRESH PAINT & FIXTURES BEFORE & AFTER!

For this project, we gave the space a completely new feel by painting all the walls and replacing the builder-grade pendant lights and chandeliers with custom glass fixtures.

Fresh paint + the right lighting can make a HUGE difference!

BEFORE & AFTER! Who else can picture themselves enjoying a cup of coffee in this refreshed space?

This four seasons room got a complete refresh with new luxury vinyl plank flooring, fresh paint, and new blinds, and it’s hard to believe it’s the same room!

The best home projects aren’t always about adding square footage. Sometimes they’re about creating a space you’ll actually want to spend time in. Whether it’s your morning coffee, an afternoon book, or a quiet place to unwind after work, this room is ready for all of it.

BEFORE & AFTER!

For this project, we installed the shower door and fixtures, then grouted the tile to put the finishing touches on a stunning new shower.

A big shoutout to the homeowner, who did an incredible job with the tile installation. It turned out beautifully, and we were happy to help bring the project across the finish line!
