Different thickness tile problem solved. Often when installing a feature strip or tiles of different sizes on the same surface, it is difficult to flush out the tile if you don't do some prep ahead of time tp make it easy to get the results you are looking for without making a mess or having ugly uneven surfaces or tiles that are not even to each other. In this video I show you how to match tiles of different thicknesses to be at the same height. All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area. Floor tile will fail, don't tile over this. Add Blocking. For a successful tile installation, the plywood subfloor must meet minimum requirements, or the tile floor will crack and fail. The plywood subfloor must be tongue and groove, if it is not the seems spanning the space between joists will not be supported, the joints will move and the result over time will be cracked failing tile. To fix this problem, blocking must be added where the plywood spans a joist bay and is unsupported. All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area. It's not hard! Applying 100% Silicone. So when you have finished your tile installation, it has been all grouted and you are ready to caulk the corners to have that nice soft movement joint to allow for movement, what should you use, Acrylic Latex Caulk, or 100% silicone sealant. In this video I show you what the real performance difference is. Silicone is the correct choice for your tile shower corners, tub joint or anywhere tile meets a tile in a corner or another type of material. You never want to just grout in your corners, this can create problems, at the very least you will have cracked corners, at the worst it will cause your tile job to fail. Silicone sealant is the correct choice, look up ANSI EJ171 for all the details. An alternative Siliconized Acrylic Caulk, but it is not as flexible and will not last anywhere near as long as a Silicone caulk joint will. Silicone is much more flexible and has a much stronger bond, however it is not easy to clean and can leave a mess if you don't know the secret how to get it done quick and easy. Unlike acrylic caulks, which can be easily cleaned with water, silicone caulk needs a bit more care and know how to get a professional looking clean even joint. In this video I demonstrate an easy method that with a little practice will have you caulking with silicone in no time. 🙂 This is my Amazon Store 🙂 https://www.amazon.com/shop/saldiblasi 🌲 Link Tree 🌲https://linktr.ee/saldiblasi PayPal https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=UMJSX3UHEHQGQ ☕ Buy me a coffee ☕ https://www.buymeacoffee.com/saldibs2

Complete Pebble shower floor install. SUBSCRIBE Learn how tile the right way. In this video I go through the steps I take to install river rock tile on a shower floor. River rock is a popular type of tile used for shower floors; they are also called pebble floors. This is a sliced or shaved river rock, which means that the surface of the shower floor will be flat, other types of river rock are rounded and result in a bumpy floor. In this type of installation I can avoid cutting the tiles since I set them in place one at a time, also known as "single set" To prepare for this type of installation, all the pebbles must be removed from the mesh mount, this can usually be done by simply pulling them off one at a time. I also show how to install the FloFx drain grate and how to adjust the height for the shower floor tile. It is important to be sure to set the tiles with the clean side up as the back of the tile will have residue of the mesh they were mounted to.
