Want your room to feel taller?

Here’s three ways to help give the space height with paint.
1. Color Drench the whole room with one color. By eliminating the cut line between the ceiling and the walls the height of the ceiling will feel endless.

2. Drop block the room. If you have a mid-wall molding paint the lower half with a bolder color and paint the upper walls and ceiling the same neutral.

3. Match your trim and ceiling with one soft neutral.

Is the pattern? Eliminated harsh lines between your ceiling and walls. And don’t be afraid of color!

Take me back to the 1930s

This week I painted in this beautiful 1930s home. High baseboards, huge windows & built-ins 😍

My clients are really trying to preserve the character of the house so I came in and gave the trim a refresh. Same color, just a few less dings now.

What do I love about working in older homes? The stories they tell and the character they have. Are some places a little wonky? Yes! But did a guy build this whole house himself for his family? Also yes. How many of us can make that statement anymore?
