🚨 INTERIOR DESIGN TIME 🚨
We LOVE creating concepts for interior spaces. The client for this consultation wanted to change up her kitchen a bit. To open it up to the rest of the home. She wasn’t concerned about color schemes at this time, she just wanted an idea of where to go from here. She wanted a change and that is what she got! Another happy client was the result, and that makes us happy as well. 🥰

Another simple Virtual Consultation completed & another happy client. 🤗 This client only wanted a black & white concept sketch. What the client wants, the client gets (however, I reserve the right to add color should I choose later on my own time, cuz 1. I love color and 2. I love reimagining my past work 😉). Check out the pics, read the details below, and see if you spotted the changes.

Consultation Deets:

The client stated that his wife absolutely hates their front entrance with its low wall and were looking for small changes to update the look of their home. We showed them 6 possible changes.
1. Removed the “moon” look to the entrance by removing the low wall and the matching arch above the entranceway. That opened up an otherwise dark entry.
2. Removed the shutters because they’re just all kind of wrong. (PSA moment - If you’re going to put fake shutters on your home, make sure they at least look like they can be used to cover your whole window!)
3. Changed out the garage door to one with a modern streamlined look.
4. Added trim board to the base of the siding, widened the trim cornerboards and the window trim, and created a sill for the windows in the siding.
5. Changed the finish material inside the porch area to a square edged T&G siding so that it no longer looked like an afterthought.
6. Recreated the walkway. The garage grabs most of the focus when looking at the entrance. A new walkway specifically highlighting the path to the door is a good technique to redirect that focus.

Ready for the next consultation fun!

Sometimes making simple moves can refresh your home. Check out this California Curb Appeal Consultation.

There are 3 Concepts. My fav is Option 3, but I am partial to visual contrasts. Which one do you like best? Check out the pics to see them all.

Consultation deets below.

The owner was not happy with the color of his brick & his porch. He was determined to paint the brick and selected the color (Benjamin Moore’s Bracken Slate), but wanted to see what it might look like before he committed. He also wanted to install a gray travertine on his porch and replace the walkway’s brick pavers. We gave him what he requested, and then we have him more option (because we can’t help ourselves, right?). Here we go:

Concept 1 is what the owner requested. BM’s Bracken Slate on the brick and brick pavers replaced with gray travertine. One suggestion that we made to the client was to replace the brick at the porch area with shiplap siding, and in this instance paint it white to brighten up the porch.

Concept 2 goes to a lighter concept. Paint the brick white (actually I prefer a white lime wash to keep maintenance down). The shiplap siding under the porch is to be painted the same color as the stucco (a lighter shade of gray than the Bracken Slate). Gray travertine locations are the same as Option 1.

Concept 3 is for more contrast. White brick the same as Option 2, but the paint for the porch and the stucco is BM’s Bracken Slate. AND the lighter gray travertine is now going to a richer toned slate tile.

🚨 INTERIOR DESIGN ALERT 🚨
That’s right! We work with designing interior spaces too and we LOVE it! So if you don’t know, now you know. 😎
This client wanted a redesign with an idea of furnishings and finishes presented through a mood board and plan & interior elevation renderings. Such a fun project to work on for the client was delighted with using this package as a guide. This is the epitome of design consultation! 🤍🤎🖤

It’s been a minute since our last posting! There have been some large scale projects in the works that we hope to share sometime in the near future, BUT for the time being here is a fairly recent virtual consultation for help with curb appeal that we can share with y’all! The client of this quirky 2-level duplex wanted to bring some appeal to an overall lackluster front elevation without inhibiting the functionality of the entrance to the basement level dwelling. Also roof changes were on the table, but any brickwork would have to wait.
This commission was an exterior brainstorming session only. It’s fun to see how small changes can make a huge impact. Curb appeal top: Invest in columns and railings, y’all, for huge visual impact. Oh, and a front door color pop is always fabulous. The paint color is “Golden Hour” by Clare. There was a gym space redesign by David Quarles IV that served as inspiration for this lovely sunshine door moment. Check out all of the images to see what the original front elevation looked like before reimagining it. You will also see the sketch of the concept design prior to materials & color being added back into the mix.

We are back in Texas for this virtual consultation! The owner of this home wanted to bring some contemporary flair to the relatively traditionally designed home.
This commission was an exterior and interior brainstorming session. It’s always fun when we get to play with the inside and the outside of a home! Exterior changes included windows, doors, paint, brick & stone veneer application. On the interior, we opened up and redesigned spaces to create easy movement from one room to the next while at the same time defining spaces for a specific purpose per the owner’s request. Swipe to the end to see the side elevation, the plans, and what the original front elevation looked like before reimagining it.

💥 Option 2 is winning! 💥
Updated Tally: 3 (Option 1) to 6 (Option 2)

Another 2 different curb appeal concept request. So which of the 2 options do you like best?
Consultation deets below.

A very long ranch style home is our next virtual consultation commission! The owner wanted to make the front entrance to the home more obvious.

For both concepts, the trim /accent color is a pecan toned wood trim, posts, railings, etc. Both concepts square off the openings and modify the walking path to the home.

Concept 1 is the light base Sherwin-Williams color by the name of City Loft. The front entrance location has not change in this concept, but bringing out a gable canopy highlights where the front entrance actually is.

Concept 2 uses the base color to provide some punch to the home. The selected color is one of my all time favorites, Sherwin-Williams Urbane Bronze.

So now I’m asking for anyone reading this to help us choose. 🙏🏽 Check out the “After” & “Before” images.

🤷🏽‍♀️ Which of the 2 color combos do you like best? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Consultation deets below. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Dallas, Texas is our next virtual consultation stop! The owner wanted some pizzazz added to this rental property - color, updated porch, landscape concepts, etc.
Color combos were the most important item on the list because the paint crew was coming at the beginning of the next week.

Concept 1 is the light color combo option with Benjamin Moore paint colors of Smoke, Chantilly Lace, with a punch of Rust (love me some paint names). The home is typically in the shade so some light colors could help bring some brightness to the home.

Concept 2 throws in a little drama with Newburyport Blue taking the place of Smoke as the siding color. Even in the shade, a dark blue paired with a crisp white will work beautifully. And the Rust painted door still gives a nice complementary color punch to the whole elevation.

The client loved both options which is why I’m asking for anyone reading this to help choose. Don’t let me down! 😁
