Sweet Stuff began in 2008 when a mother of a Marine, separated by several state lines from her son, expressed the desire to send him a birthday cake. The Marine {see: tough} was giddy with excitement and stunned that his mom had been able to get him a birthday cake despite the miles between them. The event filled Steph’s heart with so much joy that right then and there she knew she had found her c
alling. The word began to spread over the Marine Mom message boards and emails began to trickle in asking for the “29 Palms Cake Lady.” Steph was heartbroken when a change of duty station to Camp Pendleton meant that she had to begin denying orders for cakes in 29 Palms. Then she had an idea; create a website that would allow more people to order sweets for Marines in 29 Palms and Camp Pendleton so she could cover the cost to deliver to both places once a week. As Steph continued to improve her decorating skills and refine her recipes, friends, family, and eventually strangers began to ask for birthday cakes and special occasion cupcakes. Today Steph is proud to offer just about anything you can think of; if it’s sweet, chances are she’ll make it! Her handcrafted cupcakes, custom cakes, and other sweets are made with as much love as they are sugar.
