I love kitchen transformations. I enjoy helping a customer fall in love with their kitchen again and bring out the improvements they have in their wishlist.
This kitchen got a makeover because the fridge decided to spring a leak while they were out of town. The restoration company came in to assess the damage done and get everything dried out. Some damage to the cabinets, sheetrock, carpet, and flooring.
A claim into the insurance and a little extra added to the budget and the transformation began.
Demo was the first part. We took out the plant shelf, which is a framed structure above the upper cabinets that allows for the display of decor and plants. It made the room feel closed in and tight. We removed the closet/pantry area. The wrap around peninsula countertop was removed. All the upper cabinets were taken out to make way for taller cabinets to provide more storage. All new granite countertops, stainless steel sink, new faucet, new lighting both in the ceiling and under the cabinets. New flooring throughout the kitchen and front room. New island with an Acacia butcher block top. All cabinets received new doors, hardware, and a fresh coat of paint. A bonus cabinet was a built in spice rack.
The end result was a kitchen with better flow and an updated look. Very happy with the way everything came together.
