This Friday, Jason and I closed on another house here in Merkel. 🙏🏻🙌🏻
We took a 1 year break from Small Town Revival because I jumped head first back into teaching and coaching. However the Lord knew we were ready for another creative project and this house just fell in our lap. We are super excited for its potential and will be the newest house we’ve ever flipped….and it just l so happens this house and I have the same birth year of 1981. 😜
I’ve been pondering what we were going to name it for a few months now as we waited to close on it and today heard the Lord say, “in the waiting”.
The last 7 years I took some time off to work from home and had to really work on surrendering and trusting the Lord with the next phase of my life. It was a time of waiting for me. 🥴 I’m a planner and a doer and resting in the wait was so hard and very difficult some days because it didn’t look like I imagined it would. However in this wilderness season and even the transition back into the school life, He continues to remind me to EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED. Not in a sense of looking over my shoulder in fear of what will go wrong but instead of hopeful anticipation of what He has in store for me next.
So in celebration of one season to a new one…I’ve named this house, The Qavah House.
The Hebrew word qavah means "to wait with hope and expectation". It can also mean "to look for" or "to strengthen". Qavah is derived from the Hebrew word qav, which means "cord" or "line". The word qavah can be interpreted to mean that when we wait and hope, we are being "entwined" with God.
These projects are fun because I work with the creator of the universe to inspire the color choices and vision for these homes. I pray they become little churches for the families that dwell in them. But most importantly, I hope this home is a chance for something new and beautiful for a new family….and is just the house they have been “waiting” for.
From glory to glory to glory…
He’s a good good Father!
Happy Sunday friends!
