Consider this scenario:
🏋🏼Imagine a person capable of lifting 120 pounds over their shoulders.
A friend challenges them to lift higher. They successfully lift 130 pounds, then 140 pounds with some effort, 150 pounds with great difficulty, and finally fail at 160 pounds.
This scenario illustrates the concept of electrical overload. Electricity flows from a breaker, through a wire, and into a receptacle.
🚨Overloading the circuit can trip the breaker or, in extreme cases, cause damage to the breaker, wire, or receptacle.
🛠️To avoid this, perform a simple check: carefully inspect your breaker panel to determine which breaker feeds a specific receptacle and what devices are connected to that circuit.
✅Note that multiple receptacles may be connected to the same circuit. By being mindful of these connections, you can take proactive steps to avoid electrical overload.
💰Remember to think critically, act with promptness, and prioritize safety to avoid unnecessary expenses.
