China just put space tourism tickets on sale — and they sold out almost instantly.
Deep Blue Aerospace, a Chinese startup, is offering 12-minute suborbital flights to the edge of space for $210,000 per seat. The flight will reach an altitude of 100–150 km, giving passengers up to 5 minutes of weightlessness before returning to Earth.
The tickets went on sale during a livestream on Chinese shopping platform Taobao. Around 3 million people tuned in. The first two seats sold at a discounted price of $140,000 — the standard price is $210,000.
The flights are scheduled for 2027. The company says it will run dozens of safety tests in 2025 and 2026 before carrying passengers.
For comparison, Virgin Galactic charges $450,000 per seat. Deep Blue Aerospace is positioning itself as the more affordable option in the growing space tourism market.
