The Victorian Shoppe has its origins back to 2007 when we opened an online store specializing in Renaissance and Victorian clothing. It quickly attracted a large clientele of people needing period clothing for Renaissance Festivals, Theatrical Productions, Civil War Reenactments, and Weddings. I've been experimenting with some different casting products to use in my silicone moulds. So many products use harsh chemicals and have to be prepared in well ventilated areas to minimize exposure to toxic fumes. I finally found an eco-friendly product that can be safely used indoors.

I created this wall panel using a wood frame, rice paper, plus various pigments, micas, milk paint, and glazes. The swan and butterfly were created using a product containing gypsum powder that was mixed with water and poured into a mould. Once the swan and butterfly hardened, I was able to use a variety of products to color it.

I'm experimenting with some new multimedia products to create my artwork. The medallion in the center was created using a mould and special wood pulp. The entire piece was painted using a variety of materials in powder form (milk paint, pigments, and mica) that were either mixed with water or a glaze to create unique colors. It turned out a little darker than I anticipated, but that could also be partially due to the type of wood used.

While Hens on a Nest are very popular today, the EAPG companies were also making covered dishes in other shapes. The dolphin shaped covered dish was originally made by Indiana Tumbler and Goblets Works of Greentown, IN. They featured it at the Buffalo Exposition in 1901. The factory burned down in 1903 and the dolphin was not made until 1951 when Kemple Glass Company acquired the mould.

Kemple introduced the dolphin dish in the early 1950s in white milk glass. In the late 1950s and 1960s the Company began making it in various colors of glass, including amber.

The dolphin dish was originally intended to be used as a shrimp cocktail server.

Blue and white transferware is always a classic look - especially adds interest to your hutch, wall shelves or even tabletops.

The Currier and Ives ironstone bowls were produced by the Royal China Company of Sebring, Ohio. These were produced during the 1950s and 1960s and primarily sold in grocery stores as boxed sets.

The cups/saucers, sugar and creamer, and salt/pepper shakers were produced by the Homer Laughlin China Company, which was based in East Liverpool, Ohio. These items are in their Blue Dresden pattern, which was produced in the early 1960s.

I'm excited to announce that we just set up a booth at Capital Antiques in Allen, Michigan. We are Booth #63. It is a large mall with many quality dealers. Allen, is dubbed the Antique Capitol of Michigan, because there are several Antique malls in the small town.
