It’s that time of the year again! Just a reminder that Mike Augustine at Total Roofing has taken over. If you were a customer last year, you are still on the list. Good evening. We have been getting a lot of calls and messages about lights. We wanted to announce that this will be the last year for French Holiday Lighting. Our son is getting older and starting to do extracurricular activities, I have taken over our family brick business, and Stephanie has more responsibility at her job each day it seems. I started this as a side money maker in college and would have never thought it would have ballooned into what it did. Stephanie joined me about 4 years into it and we grew from there. Now this, our 23rd year, will be our last. We’d like to thank all customers for their loyalty over the years. And to each of our employees, thank you, we couldn’t have done any of this without your help! We are looking forward to actually having free time on the weekends next fall!
Thanks again to all!!!
Chris and Stephanie French

The 2021 light season is here, but this year feels different. We are downsizing and will not be accepting any new customers. We have mailed out letters to all customers, some were farewell letters while others reflected market rate increases. At this point, all letters should have been received so if you have not received a letter, please contact us.

For those of you that we are still waiting to hear confirmation from, please contact us as soon as possible. The schedule will be finalized on Saturday, October 9th and if we have not heard from you by then, we will assume you have decided to go another direction.

Yet something else to disclose, the supply chain crisis could severely impact our season. While we do have some inventory left from last year, our supplier (Novelty Lights) still does not have clear, blue or green LED bulbs in stock.

Thank you to all our customers for the support throughout the years. We are fortunate to be in a position to continue operations even if it is at reduced capacity, and we are looking forward to another season!

As of yesterday the 2020-2021 light season has officially come to an end. We would like to thank everyone who used us to put their Christmas lights up this year. We would also like to thank everyone for being patient as the weather was not kind to us during the take down process. We hope you have a healthy and happy 2021. Now bring on some warm weather!!!

Good morning all. I haven’t posted an update for tear down yet this year. We have been out every time we’ve been able to. Most of Millstadt has been taken down. We have one more day and we will be done there. There are two crews doing tear down so once we get some good days it will go very quick. Mother Nature has not been to good to us for tear down this year so far. Just know we are working on it and will be by as soon as we can be. Thanks for being patient!

Our two crews will be splitting this weekend. Weather pending we will be in the Wernings and Gedern Estates in Columbia and the other crew will be taking care of some Belleville/Shiloh/O’Fallon accounts. For those of you that I have or will reach out to, please remember to leave your lights out for us and don’t forget that payment is due at time of service. If we don’t make it by this weekend, you will be our first customers next weekend. See you all soon!

Millstadt customers...if we have not been to your house yet, you are next on the list! I will be sending out texts this evening and tomorrow but please set your containers out for us. Weather pending (and the weather doesn’t appear to be in our favor at the moment), we will be by to put your lights up. If we don’t make it this weekend, we will do what we can during the week and get the rest next weekend. Please remember that payment is due at the time of service this year. Thanks and see you all soon!

Stonebridge and Alpine Trails/Meadows...be ready! We are heading your way this weekend! I will work on getting texts out tomorrow night so you know what you owe...but please work on getting your lights out for us! Thank you!

And the winner is...Cedar Creek! We will be by to put your lights up this weekend. I will text you all this evening!

Well here we are...another christmas light season is upon us!

While we still have members from our veteran crew, one thing will be different this year. With Chris’ time being completely consumed with the brick company, he has officially turned the reigns over to me, Stephanie. I’m sure you’ve all seen me out there at some point as I have been by his side 17 out of the 20 years. Chris will do his best to help out when he can, but communications this year will come from me and possibly others as well. Justin Patrick, Mike Hoosen, and Anthony Sadrerafi will be our primary light hangers with others helping out as schedules permit. These three aren’t just employees, they are friends that we trust and know will provide the same great customer service and quality work as we would.

Last year we sent out letters to the majority of our customers letting everyone know what the rates would be over the next five years with the gradual implementation of the Illinois minimum wage increase. If you did not receive a letter, it was merely because we did not have the footage of your house noted for me to calculate at the time and while I had every intention of circling back with you, 2020 got the best of me. But please let me know if you need that information and I will be happy to let you know your specific rates.

Now with that being said, there will be some changes in billing this year. Assuming no upgrades or additional footage is added, we will let you know the amount due when we reach out to schedule with you. Given my full-time job, the four year old I’m trying to raise (and keep alive), and the fact that hanging lights for me this year isn’t optional, PAYMENT WILL BE DUE AT THE TIME SERVICES ARE RENDERED. Payment can be made via Venmo (), check or cash. We are offering a 10% discount if you pay by cash same day. If payment is not made same day, a $5 billing fee will be added to each invoice sent.

Just a few reminders...

1) If you have not previously switched to LED lights and would like to, please let us know in advance to ensure we have enough lights on hand to upgrade. Please note that some customers are due to replace their wire and I will do my best to notify those of you in advance.

2) Because we can’t predict what the weather will hold for us this year, we will continue to schedule neighborhoods/towns in blocks and will focus on those areas until we are done. If you miss us when we are in your area, we will do the best we can to squeeze you back in but please know that due to our geographical service area, there’s a chance you may fall to the end of the list.

3) Without Chris, and the fact that finding reliable help continues to be a struggle, we currently do not have the capacity to accept new customers this year. However, this year we are going to start a waitlist. Our first priority is providing service to our repeat customers and ensuring all accounts are up timely (by the first weekend in December). If we happen to get all our accounts up, we will begin circling back to those on the waitlist so if you’d like to be placed on that, please let me know.

We are looking forward to seeing everybody for another season of Christmas lights!! If you are ready for lights, please comment below or contact me (preferably via text) at 618-781-3180. Thanks and we will see you soon!
