Well here we are...another christmas light season is upon us!
While we still have members from our veteran crew, one thing will be different this year. With Chris’ time being completely consumed with the brick company, he has officially turned the reigns over to me, Stephanie. I’m sure you’ve all seen me out there at some point as I have been by his side 17 out of the 20 years. Chris will do his best to help out when he can, but communications this year will come from me and possibly others as well. Justin Patrick, Mike Hoosen, and Anthony Sadrerafi will be our primary light hangers with others helping out as schedules permit. These three aren’t just employees, they are friends that we trust and know will provide the same great customer service and quality work as we would.
Last year we sent out letters to the majority of our customers letting everyone know what the rates would be over the next five years with the gradual implementation of the Illinois minimum wage increase. If you did not receive a letter, it was merely because we did not have the footage of your house noted for me to calculate at the time and while I had every intention of circling back with you, 2020 got the best of me. But please let me know if you need that information and I will be happy to let you know your specific rates.
Now with that being said, there will be some changes in billing this year. Assuming no upgrades or additional footage is added, we will let you know the amount due when we reach out to schedule with you. Given my full-time job, the four year old I’m trying to raise (and keep alive), and the fact that hanging lights for me this year isn’t optional, PAYMENT WILL BE DUE AT THE TIME SERVICES ARE RENDERED. Payment can be made via Venmo (), check or cash. We are offering a 10% discount if you pay by cash same day. If payment is not made same day, a $5 billing fee will be added to each invoice sent.
Just a few reminders...
1) If you have not previously switched to LED lights and would like to, please let us know in advance to ensure we have enough lights on hand to upgrade. Please note that some customers are due to replace their wire and I will do my best to notify those of you in advance.
2) Because we can’t predict what the weather will hold for us this year, we will continue to schedule neighborhoods/towns in blocks and will focus on those areas until we are done. If you miss us when we are in your area, we will do the best we can to squeeze you back in but please know that due to our geographical service area, there’s a chance you may fall to the end of the list.
3) Without Chris, and the fact that finding reliable help continues to be a struggle, we currently do not have the capacity to accept new customers this year. However, this year we are going to start a waitlist. Our first priority is providing service to our repeat customers and ensuring all accounts are up timely (by the first weekend in December). If we happen to get all our accounts up, we will begin circling back to those on the waitlist so if you’d like to be placed on that, please let me know.
We are looking forward to seeing everybody for another season of Christmas lights!! If you are ready for lights, please comment below or contact me (preferably via text) at 618-781-3180. Thanks and we will see you soon!
