Outdoor Comfort Solutions Announces Retirement of Souris River Designs Name Following Statewide River Renaming
Outdoor Comfort Solutions, a leading provider of outdoor living
spaces and home renovation services in North Dakota, announced today that it will officially retire the Souris River Designs name. The change follows the State of North Dakota’s 2024 decision to formally adopt Mouse River as the river’s official name, aligning
state law with long-standing local usage.
Founded in 2001, Souris River Designs began as a design build remodeling company serving homeowners throughout the Minot region. Over the past two decades, the company expanded its expertise, completing hundreds of kitchen, bath, and whole home
renovation projects. As demand grew for high quality outdoor living solutions, the company launched a dedicated division in 2018: Outdoor Comfort Solutions. Outdoor Comfort Solutions quickly became the region’s trusted source for sunrooms,
decks, patio covers, screen systems, and year round outdoor living enhancements. As that division continued to grow, it became clear that the Outdoor Comfort Solutions brand better represented the company’s identity, services, and future direction. “The name Souris River Designs has been part of our story for more than 20 years, and we’re proud of the work we’ve done under that banner,” said [Owner/David Lebrun]. Effective immediately, all remodeling services—including kitchen and bath renovations, cabinetry, and countertop sales—will operate under the Outdoor Comfort Solutions name. The company remains locally owned, locally operated, and committed to the same
craftsmanship, customer service, and community values that have defined it since 2001. “Our customers can expect the same team, the same quality, and the same commitment—just under a name that reflects where we’re headed,” added David
Lebrun. “This transition allows us to simplify our brand while honoring our roots and continuing to grow.”
