In The Paint Murals

Not every mural idea makes it to the wall, but this one still sticks with us.

We think about it all the time when we’re downtown. Frederick in wooden block letters, like the kind of toys you’d find at Dancing Bear. A few playful bears worked into the scene. The selfie bear on the corner throwing up a peace sign. And a cute little Snallygaster floating overhead… minus the tentacles. We’re still trying to solve that part in a way that keeps him weird, but not nightmare fuel.

This is a mockup, but we usually stay pretty close to the original design when we paint. We kept this version smaller based on the original scope, but there’s room to spread the stacked blocks out into a row across more of the wall.

It never happened, but we still love this one.

This is the kind of room color is made for.

Swipe for the before.

The mural pulls in bold color from around the home, then pushes it further so the space has a personality all its own. Now it feels bright, playful, and fully part of the house instead of an afterthought.

A space for slow mornings, casual drinks, and summer nights that naturally end up here.

If you’ve been thinking about doing something bolder with color, this is your sign.

We hitting our poses.
Use this as some inspiration. The brings the fair to one massive wall with the Ferris wheel, racing pigs, cows a plenty, the Big Cheese, and the one and only monster truck of our dreams (literally, cause we made it up).

It’s got nostalgia, neon, and enough fair vibes to last till next summer.

Heard of Night at the Museum? Well, it’s Daytime at the Fair and things are getting crazy. Rides spinning, animals on the move, and the monster truck is at full throttle.

At 127 feet wide, this mural was simply too big to capture in one shot, so we stitched it together so you can journey the full length with us. Painted over the course of a year, the design transitions from daytime fun to nighttime magic, highlighting everything loved about the Montgomery County Ag Fair, MD.

This wall has been a true labor of love, celebrating 75 years of tradition, food, rides, animals, and community memories.
