When you buy a new (darker colored) couch and then suddenly your coffee table looks too big and the whole room is too dark, you don’t have to go buy new. Painting or refinishing what you already have is and you can keep the really well made, solid furniture that you love.

It’s well loved, but a great solid wood piece of furniture. I refinished it for our kids playroom years ago and for the last 5 years it’s been our breakfast table.

Knowing this piece had family history and now has years of life ahead of it makes me so happy! Now it will be the breakfast table for one of my favorite friends and her sweet family!


**My posts will be limited in the coming months as I adjust to a work-life balance with a “real” 8-5 job, so this was a great piece to end my summer with!

I never took a full before of this huge and beautiful bench, but I’m in love with this fresh new piece.

Parents waiting to eat lunch with their kids at SCE this year (can I get a 🙌🏼hallelujah🙌🏼 for something “normal” returning to school!) will be able to sit on this bench as they wait this year! A much needed facelift and I can’t wait to see how it looks up against the red brick wall.

This beautiful SOLID (aka: heavy) buffet is now fresh and light for our elementary school’s foyer this year. It was brown and outdated in the office, and now it will brighten up the entryway. I can’t wait to see it against the brick in the foyer!!

I’m in love with this secretary desk! I’ve had this piece in my garage for over a year, and have been waiting for the right time to give it a facelift. This summer just seemed like the right time, when I had this awesome leftover from another project.
Paint and new hardware and now she’s ready for someone’s use.
She’s available for purchase, unless I decide I want her in my new office before someone claims her.

I just can’t be productive in this heat… so the paper is taped down and the mud room is my new painting space!

Mother’s desk redone in for a sweet customer this week. So very neat to know that a desk your mother sat in will now have years more life in your own home!

When I pulled out the drawers, I found this envelope of old correspondence shoved between the drawers and back of the desk. Inside are typed letters, so it was quite neat to imagine this desk with her typewriter in the center and paper in the lift-top, her hands steadily typing correspondence. It’s next use will probably have something much more modern than a typewriter on its top, but that’s why I love this work so much! From trash to treasure, with stories to tell.

She’s a beautiful Bombay Co. console table in a beautiful pure white. The back is also painted, to allow for use up against the back of a couch or standing alone in an entryway. Two of the drawers are felt-lined and the bottom shelf is perfect for baskets or display space.
