I’m so disappointed to share that I won’t be at Vintage Market Days this weekend after all. Unfortunately, I’m under the weather and need to take the time to rest and recover.

I was looking forward to seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new friends, and sharing all the things I’ve been working on for The Little Blue Barn. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way.

I’ll definitely miss being there, but health has to come first. Wishing all of the vendors, shoppers, and organizers a wonderful weekend and a very successful event!

The curve of the arms.
The worn velvet.
The way one perfect piece can completely change the feeling of a room.

This one feels like an old English library, rainy afternoons, and a cup of tea you forgot was getting cold because you finally sat down for a minute.

A good chair isn’t just furniture.
It’s personality.
It’s atmosphere.

The grain, the warmth, the weight in your hand… every piece is beautifully unique and instantly makes a kitchen feel more collected and lived in. At Vintage Market Days, I always love having real-looking florals tucked throughout the booth. They instantly make a space feel welcoming, cozy, and lived in — without worrying about watering or wilted petals by day three. The best faux flowers today look so realistic that people often stop and touch them twice.

But beyond the decor, flowers have a way of sharing happiness. They brighten a room, spark conversation, bring back memories, and make people smile without even realizing it. A simple bouquet can make a booth feel softer, warmer, and more inviting — like stepping into a home instead of just a market.

You know I couldn’t just leave it.
So naturally, what started as “I’ll just fix this one spot” turned into me standing there like—
“well now the whole wall has to come down.” 😅

Kids: “Mom… aren’t we leaving soon?”
Me: mid-strip, covered in wallpaper glue “Yes. Absolutely. Right after this section.”

Because apparently I thrive in chaos + last-minute home projects.

You think you know your home… until you look next to the bathtub.

Tonight’s discovery: a full-on dinosaur migration 🦕🦖
One large, one tiny—just hanging out like they pay the water bill.

No explanation. No child in sight. Just vibes.

Honestly, I’ve stopped asking questions. Between bath toys, rogue socks, mystery hair ties, and now prehistoric creatures… this corner of the house is basically its own ecosystem.

At this point, if I find a half eaten snack, a cat kid book, and a trail of papers tomorrow, I won’t even blink.

✨ Home isn’t just where you relax… it’s where the weird little moments live.

From closed-off + dated… to open, bright, and connected 🤍”

This home had great bones—but the layout was working against it.

➡️ A small doorway separated the living room from the kitchen
➡️ Heavy visual breaks made each space feel smaller
➡️ Mixed finishes (brick, paneling, flooring) felt disconnected

The goal: create flow, light, and a cohesive feel without losing character.

✨ The shift that changed everything:
We opened up the pass-through into a wide cased opening—instantly connecting the living, kitchen, and dining spaces.

What that did:
• Brought natural light all the way through the home
• Made the square footage feel bigger (without adding any)
• Created sightlines from fireplace → kitchen → dining
• Turned separate rooms into a lifestyle space

Then we layered in:
• Light, neutral paint to unify walls
• Updated flooring for continuity
• Soft, warm wood + black accents for contrast
• A simplified fireplace to keep the charm but modernize it

Now it feels like one intentional, welcoming space instead of three disconnected rooms.

👉 This is the side of design most people miss:
Sometimes it’s not about furniture… it’s about reworking how the home flows.
