The past couple of months I have been focusing on our new home being built which has consumed a lot of my time. In a few weeks after we move I will be getting back in the saddle focusing on tile work and doing select jobs that I can handle. Which will be showers, tub surrounds and kitchen back splashes. I am bone on bone on my right knee and sometime after the 1st of the year I will be getting knee replacement. Until then I am trying to do jobs I know I can handle. Showers I am not on my knees for very long. Jobs that are upstairs and a lot of walking distance to and from the wet-saw outside is what aggravates the knee. But with injections and careful planning I am still working. I do have a tile installer to bring in that can help for those jobs that are larger and more time consuming. Thank you

Just finished this tile job for Philip Mueller of Miller's Creek North Carolina. I don't usually get too excited about tile after doing it for over 35 years. But I've got to admit I really like this tile it's a Italian tile customer got it from McLean Floor Coverings. I like it so much I think I'm going to put it in my own house.

Just wanted tom share this. I lived in New Bern NC for 13 years. I was born and raised in Yadkin County NC. Started and learned tile down in South Florida 1988,89, 90. So I have been around you might say. Anyway I did a Goggle search and found this. I had a spotless reputation there and I plan to keep it that way here in the Wilkes County area. Folks there are a lot of people that claim they can do tile so be careful of who you hire. Check for references!

Here is a updated picture of the job that I just finished for my customer in the Rock Creek area of Wilkes County. It was definitely a unique challenge. This was a double wide manufactured home. Not knocking manufactured homes because we have lived in 3 in the past years. However they're not built like traditional homes. When you tear into one like this one you have to get rather creative. In this situation the existing shower was built over the ductwork at the factory making the job rather difficult for the plumber install the new shower pan. A platform had to be built and the pan had to be put on top. My job was to demo the existing shower and cabinets. The plumber came in and redid the plumbing. Built a base for the new acrylic shower pan. Then I came back behind him framed up the new wall install the sheetrock and concrete board waterproof the shower tiled and grouted. Customer is going to do their own sheetrock finishing and painting and install shelves and other various odds and ends. Basically I was contracted to come in and do the demo and put in a new tile shower.

Hope everyone has had a fabulous start of the new year and staying warm. Here is my current job that I'm working on for a customer in the Rock Creek community. It is a double wide home they can be a little bit challenging that times. But it can still be done. Right now I have to demo done and I am waiting on the plumber to do what he's got to do on this job we are not doing a shower mud pan we are doing a acrylic pan with tile walls. I have also gutted the cabinets to the right of the existing shower and we are making the shower larger finished product with roughly be 36 in by 48 in. I will post pics and update as I go.

Another satisfied customer it was a pleasure doing this job for Ricky and Terry Moore. I'll admit I'm not the quickest installer around nor do I care to be. I take my time and I make sure I do the job right. I do it the way I've been doing it for going on more than 30 years. My showers don't leak ever. I do a pre-pitch in My Pan before the vinyl liner. I waterproof my showers and I do the job the best to my ability. I focus on quality not speed.
