Awards are nice, but they’re really just the result of a lot of planning, communication, craftsmanship, and people who care about doing things the right way.

Baseboard/trim install almost always leads to drywall repair and paint. That’s just how it goes.

If your quote doesn’t include it, ask why.
Because the last thing you want is a “great price” that grows legs later and comes back to bite you in the form of a change order.

Hardwood expands and contracts based on temperature and humidity, so when it shows up to your house straight off a truck, it is not exactly “settled in” yet. If you install it right away, it is going to make those adjustments after it is already nailed down… and that is when you start seeing gaps, movement, and all the stuff nobody wants to deal with.

So we let it acclimate. We bring it into the home, let it sit, let it breathe, and let it get comfortable in the environment it is actually going to live in.

Now, ask ten contractors how long that should take and you will probably get ten different answers. But here is the part everyone agrees on… skipping that step entirely is just gambling with your brand new floors.

A little patience on the front end goes a long way toward floors that still look great years down the road.

Every great project starts long before the first hammer swings. A clean, organized start sets the tone for everything that follows. Clear plans, aligned expectations, and a strong kickoff make all the difference between a stressful build and a smooth one.

Quick rule of thumb before you start swinging hammers… 👇

Most of the time, ceiling joists run the short direction of a room. That means your longer walls are often doing the heavy lifting.

Is it always true? Nope.
Is it a solid starting point before you go opening things up? Absolutely.

Moral of the story: don’t trust your demo day confidence more than the structure above your head 😅

Day one.
Walls open, floors exposed, and the real work begins. A project of this size takes serious planning before the first tool ever touches the house. Now that everything is mapped out, it is time to bring the vision to life. Stay tuned.
