Life continues to be interesting. More than a decade ago, I left my long career as an architectural and interior designer/co-owner of a residential design/build firm, and focused my work mainly on business and marketing consulting, working with women creatives over 50.

For the past six months, I've been pursuing an Art Medicine Practitioner certification, and I'm excited about this shift and what it will mean for the kind of work I do and the services I'll offer.

THEN this happens— TWO design projects: a kitchen remodel and a master bath remodel! The kitchen is cost-conscious and the bathroom is high-end.

It's a lot like riding a bike. The muscle memory is there and the design process flows easily. I've done this thousands of times, only now there are so many new products and materials to play with.

I'm having FUN!

While browsing my email this morning, I read an article about an interior design trend called "Dopamine Design," which is all about using color to make you feel good.

Then, in another article, I found this photo, reminding me of my most recent Portal Painting created in my Art Medicine Certification program.

It made me think that we can create whole spaces as Portals.

A Portal is a bridge or doorway in the transformative process, bringing the unseen to the seen.

If I was still in the design biz, it'd be fun to guide a client through the Portal Painting process, and use the resulting painting as a "map" for designing their space. That way, they'd be surrounded by whatever transformation they were wishing to see.

Wowza! Talk about a manifestation tool!

Hello to all of our friends, colleagues, clients, and community,

Well, it looks like today is the day that the Spectrum Fine Homes, Inc. website is finally being shut down, and the Spectrum emails will no longer work.

If you don't already know, Bob & I closed Spectrum Fine Homes, Inc in June, and have been busy remodeling our own lives & careers! This has been a big transition
since we had both worked to build Spectrum Fine Homes, Inc. for 25 years, and had worked together in the business for all those years - a wonderful, co-creative
experience with the resulting company, clients, projects, and community being one of the highlights of our 42 years together.

So what are we doing now?

Bob is working at Spiteri Builders, Inc. as a Project Manager. Spiteri specializes in Restoration work - insurance work for fire, flood, disaster damage.Spiteri's tagline/mantra
is "Rebuilding Your Future", which is exactly what Bob is doing for victims of the PG&E fire disaster in San Bruno, along with a few other clients in San Francisco & on the
Peninsula. He is also 'rebuilding our future' with this position, and is very happy being connected to Spiteri and the people who are in the company, the clients & the community.

I have left the design & building industry behind in most ways, but never in my heart. I'm taking my dream of building 'community' and giving 'Voice' to experts to 'Co-create, Communicate, and Ignite Change', to the next level. Each week I host my Conversation Radio show, Good and Green Radio with guests, thought-leaders from around the world who share their stories of living a 'Positively Sustainable Lifestyle' balanced in 'Head, Heart, & Hand' and leaving a lighter footprint on the Earth. I am also developing programs & mentoring, teaching, coaching & consulting on 'co-creation' & marketing, working with entrepreneurs both locally and online.

Our family is as wonderful as ever. Bob & I will be celebrating our 39th anniversary in April,
Since both our sons were part of the 'Spectrum Family', each working in the business at some time during the life of the company, you might be interested in what they are doing now.
Aaron has launched his artistic career following his passion, and is a successful and sought-after tattoo artist working in Redwood City, California. Chris is pursuing his own entrepreneurial path, as well. The acorns don't fall far from the tree, and we are very proud of both sons.
