We moved here from New York in March 2008 after our only son Matthew went into congestive heart failure at 6 weeks old. We had our vacation home already built in Conway in the same development as my parents and just felt we had to make Matthew the priority in our lives. He has survived congestive heart failure and had his surgery when he was 9 months old at MUSC Children’s Hospital in Charleston S

C. He now faces the challenges of living with severe ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (High Functioning Asperger's) He is our life and all we do we do for him. It is God’s calling that we have this home-based business where I can work from home while being available for our son. After a bumpy ride in the Horry County Schools system up until 4th grade, we pulled him out of school and he is now a happy child being homeschooled. Thankfully my husband was transferred as a Manager from Kohl’s in New York, but after a year he was laid off and so I went to work for Chase in Florence SC in the Loss Mitigation Dept acting as the agent for the bank when it came to Short Sales and Foreclosures. It was the worst time of my life as I hated leaving my baby at 5:30am and not getting back home until 7pm. I did this for 8 months and then I gave notice as I was in a full depression. During this time my husband enjoyed being a stay at home father and was taking care of our yard and as we lived in a neighborhood that had many non-full time residents he started taking care of their yards, and voila, Matthew’s Lawn Care was born. My husband attended the Tree Climbing School in Atlanta GA and is a Certified Tree Climber with Tree Climbers International. He also had started Matthew’s Sweet Treats, partnering with A&A Produce and baking gourmet quality cheesecakes for local restaurants. So we have been blessed with so much work from Matthew’s Lawn Care, that Matthew’s Sweet Treats is now what I call my Cheesecake Ministry, and all proceeds are donated to my local church or to someone in need during the holidays. We are honest hard-working people and love our South Carolina friends and family.
