If y’all think painting is just picking up a brush and slapping some paint up there let me tell you a story!
First let’s see The Pinterest picture that started it all. (1) My wife saw this and decided she wanted blue kitchen cabinets. So she got a paint sample and I went to painting.(pic 2) we looked at that cabinet and decided that blue was too pastel. Might be better for a kids room, but let’s try it with the wall next it white for better contrast and let’s put the doors on. (3rd pic) we lived with it like that for a few days and decided we definitely didn’t like that color. So we talked about it and decided maybe we should do white on the uppers and navy on the lowers. (4th pic) my wife thought the navy was too dark. Then I asked my wife to pick three colors I could swatch for her. She picked Ellie gray from Sherwin Williams, Sea Salt S-W, and we gave Glacier Mist aka the awful blue one last chance 😬. (5th pic) I painted three cabinet doors different colors, and we lived with them a few days. Checking them out throughout the different times of the day. Immediately my wife decided she wanted sea salt for the walls. (6) Meanwhile I got busy caulking and painting the inside of the cabinets. It was A LOT WORK, but very well worth it (7,8,9) Finally my wife makes up her mind. She picks Ellie gray for the lowers. (10) After all that it was time for new hardware. We went with black instead of nickel this time. (11,12).And voila feels like a brand new kitchen!
