Naturally we’re gonna post before Christmas!

CRFH finished this N5A restoration for Don Hudzinski This helmet is his duty lid for The Pittston City Fire Bureau, which needed some TLC after the original finish began flaking and pealing. The original Cairns finish was stripped to bare leather and cleaned. It then had several coats of new shellac applied along with cleaning of all brass parts.

The last two photos were submitted by the customer showing his shield mounted once he accepted delivery.

Thanks again Don for your business and support!

After a lengthy and needed break, We’re back in the saddle! Yesterday, CRFH’s performed this 1st Due Leathers Restoration Retro Brass install for Chandler Prymowicz of the Nanticoke City Fire Department. A tip of the lid to Chandler as well for a job well done on his own restoration of the helmet.

After months of meticulous detail... she’s finally done. Everything is hand carved and hand tooled, from the letters, to the ship and it’s sails, to the shadow lines, and words in banners. As much as I wanted to pull my hair out at times, it was well worth it in the end. Like I’ve said before, if you want anything at all on a shield or radio holder, I have you covered.

Coal Region just finished up this Phenix TL-2 for long time customer Nate Redmond. Nate recently accepted a career position for a Fire Department out of the area and returned to Coal Region for a repaint on his duty lid for his new job. The lid was stripped and painted with Angelus Flat Black in our signature “Anthracite Black”. It was then trimmed with our in house made Black 3M Scotchlite Tetrahedrons. Finally the brass parts were cleaned and polished.

Thanks again for your continued business and support! Best of Luck with your new career and welcome to the best job in the world!

Coal Region recently completed this N5A Natural Restoration for Chief Gary Slusser of the West Pittston Fire Department. This original Natural helmet came to CRFH with 20 years of heavy fire usage. The original natural Cairns/MSA finish was removed, and the helmet was prepped for its final finish. New Tetrahedrons along with a new ratchet were installed as well.

Thank you Gary for your support and business!
