From growing up in Jersey to now designing homes along the Jersey Shore, there’s something incredibly special about bringing fresh, elevated coastal living to life. The design components and composition are much different than here in the Midwest, I will say that! 
 
These projects are all about creating interiors that feel bright, airy, and effortlessly sophisticated — blending natural textures like rattan, teak wood, and woven fibers with timeless transitional details. Think brushed brass finishes, herringbone patterns, tailored upholstery, and layered lighting that adds warmth and depth from day to night.

10 things I would never do in a home—mine or a client’s 👇🏼
1. Ignore scale. Oversized sofas in tiny rooms (or vice versa) throw everything off.
2. Install lighting as an afterthought. It’s the jewelry of the home—it deserves intention and scale.
3. Use trendy materials to save a few dollars (example - tile meant to mimic wood)
4. Skip dimmers. Every single light should have mood control—always.
5. Avoid the use of color and pattern. Homes should tell a story and feel lived in through the use of tones and shapes.
6. Overmatch everything. A home should be layered in bespoke authenticity, not copied like a big box store showroom.
7. Use competing undertones. This is where the help of a designer with a trained eye is key.
8. Forget about texture. If everything is smooth, nothing feels interesting.
9. Hang art or mirrors too high. Eye level is key—every time.
10. Neglect the flow. Each space should speak to the next effortlessly and make sense.

Styled Ivy Interiors is rooted in the idea that great design, like ivy, is both enduring and ever-evolving.

The name was inspired by a centuries-old family estate I spent afternoons admiring from my city apartment in Barcelona—its stone façade softened and transformed by ivy that climbed effortlessly upward, season after season. There was something unforgettable about that contrast: old-world permanence paired with organic movement, structure layered with softness, history meeting growth.

That image stayed with me. Ivy doesn’t rush—it builds, it adapts, it weaves itself into its surroundings over time. In many ways, that mirrors the way I approach design.

At Styled Ivy Interiors, each space is thoughtfully curated to feel timeless yet alive—layered, personal, and designed to evolve alongside the people who live in it. The “styled” speaks to a refined, intentional aesthetic; the “ivy” is a nod to the foundation of inspiration that continues to shape my work as a principal designer.

When the drywall goes up, everything changes. ✨

What once felt like a chaotic construction zone suddenly starts to look like a home again. Walls define the space, sightlines make sense, and the vision that once lived only in plans and renderings finally begins to take shape.

For designers, this is one of the most exciting moments in any remodel—when the bones of the space are revealed and you can truly see how the layout will live and function.
