🌿🌿🌿Oh so many things to say about this project:

1. Mounting a staghorn on to driftwood is harder than it looks
2. I probably should have done this at the beginning of the summer vs fall
3. Now that it’s hanging it reminds me of co**se legs (this seems to be a theme with me 😂💀)
4. If it grows, the papery fronds should attach to the wood and grow over the moss and I think I’ll be able to cut off the fishing line
5. Watering might be tricky since I’m suppose to soak it in water…but that’s a future me problem
6. 🙏Send this plant all your magical witchy vibes so she thrives in her new driftwood nook 🧙‍♀️✨🌿
7. This is just another reason to find more cool driftwood 😆

A friend donated this to the chaos that is our backyard 😂. All of my potted perennials were being taken over by the pumpkin vines that popped up that I don’t wanna tear up, so I decided to take a few and toss them in this old metal trough. I drilled holes in the bottom first. That was labor intensive and not fun. Filled the bottom with some limbs from an old tree to help with drainage and to take up some extra space, that helps with how much soil I needed. One day I’ll put perennials in the ground in beds, but that’s still being figured out. Hopefully these thrive in this container and spot. I’m definitely still learning the ropes for outdoor gardening. Very thankful that I drive a pickup truck for these projects 😅.

Completely chopped my tall skinny fiddle leaf fig tree and was just hoping in for the best. Now look at all her new growth points!
