Did you know wild violets are edible? Me neither! I’ve been collecting them from the yard today. I plan to put some on a salad and the others in ice cubes for later. If you look around any open green spaces I bet you’ll see some!

I planted pansies in my vegetable garden today. Yes, they are technically edible, but I planted them for the looks! I think I’ll really enjoy seeing the pops of bright colors. Who has planted pansies this season?

How does being a new mom and a picture of two tomatoes relate?

These two tomatoes that both came from my garden. One is picture-perfect and social media worthy. The other is not so pretty but is the reality of having a garden. Sometimes your plants get a disease, bugs take over, or birds decide to have a snack. Both came from my garden but only one of them would be snapped for social media, which leads me to today’s thought.

In case there's somebody out there that needs to not feel alone in its challenges, allow me to be real and honest about what new motherhood has been like for me in the latest blog, "Social Media vs. Reality."

I spent the morning in the garden and feel like a new man! Wait.... 😉 Really though, a good dose of vitamin D and hands in the dirt can make all the difference. Check out the first tomato harvest! These are going next door for the neighbors’ BLTs. YUM.
