After 14 years in our Nashville house, I’ve been getting ansty and longing for some change - not overwhelming change, but something new for the eye to land on every day. So this summer I mustered up the courage to swap out our beloved Philadelphia Harlequin wallpaper (designed circa 1807) in a custom colorway by Adelphi Paper Hangings for another of their papers, Bamboo and Drapery (circa 1811). The change is exactly what I had hoped for. It doesn’t feel drastic - we still have an entry hall filled with color and shape and depth - but there’s a freshness to the new paper - more organic, a bit brighter - that feels just right for our family after nearly 15 years in this house. My daughters (photo 1) are now 21 and 18, our sweet puppy Ellie (photo 1 & 3) has passed on and our new baby George (photo 2) just arrived a week ago. It’s fun to watch a house change and grow, just as we do, and nice to be able to see it in new ways. 📷 1&3 circa 2012 williamwaldronphoto
