Tuna Melt Sandwiches in French Baguette
This Tuna Melt Sandwich on a crispy French baguette is packed with creamy tuna salad, melted cheese, and a satisfying crunch. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or a hearty snack.
Ingredients
* 1 French baguette, cut into 4 portions
* 2 cans tuna, drained
* 1/3 cup mayonnaise
* 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
* 1 celery stalk, finely diced
* 2 tbsp red onion, finely diced
* 1 tbsp lemon juice
* Salt and black pepper to taste
* 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or 4 cheese slices
* 1 tomato, sliced (optional)
* 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a medium bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, celery, red onion, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper.
3. Slice each baguette portion lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
4. Fill each baguette with the tuna mixture.
5. Add tomato slices if using.
6. Top generously with cheddar cheese.
7. Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet.
8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
9. For a golden top, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
10. Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
