"The fisherman and his bike."

I love the River. I love people who love her, too.

She is an old, faithful friend. She's been quietly there, running past members of my family, at least for 4 or 5 generations. I gazebo at her and I wonder about the thoughts that my forebears had at their first meeting with Miss. River.

I live about the same distance from it as did 3 or 4 generations ago.

Sometimes, I forget this awesome force, one city block away. Life gets busy. But when on a bike ride or a walk, she is there, running silently beside me.

I hope the fisherman did good.
