🍇 Did You Know? 🍇

We didn’t!

When you plant a seed from a grape you’ve eaten, the new vine won’t be an exact copy of the grape it came from. Just like siblings in a family, grape seedlings can have completely different traits than their parent plant—including flavor, size, color, and vigor.

That’s why most grape growers don’t start new vines from seeds. Instead, they propagate vines from cuttings, which creates a clone of the original plant and preserves all the characteristics they love.

So while planting grape seeds can be a fun gardening experiment, it’s also a bit of a mystery—you never know exactly what kind of grapes you’ll get!

Have you ever grown something from seed and been surprised by the results? 🍇🌱

Rain=mosquitos

That’s why we love and sell Skeeter Screen products. We swear they work!

Whether you’re watering tomatoes, tending pollinator flowers, or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee outdoors, it’s nice to have an extra layer of protection.

We also recommend planting citronella around the yard.

One of the highlights of our first Roots & Remedies workshop was this incredible Garden & Grace Blueberry Basil Buzz mocktail! Big shoutout to Em Cat for squeezing them lemons! 🍋🍋🍋

We promised we’d share the recipe with everyone who couldn’t make it, and trust us, you’ll want to save this one. 🫐🌿🍋 It was fresh, bright, lightly sweet, and the perfect way to celebrate the flavors growing right here on the farm.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of learning, laughter, pesto, and community. We can’t wait to do it again!

Give this recipe a try and let us know what you think. 💚

Our very first Roots & Remedies Workshop is in the books, and what a wonderful evening it was. 🌿✨

We may not have taken many photos (we were too busy enjoying ourselves!), but we shared homemade pesto, sipped mocktails that may have turned into cocktails 🍹😉, talked about urban farming, forestry, pollinators, and the importance of growing together as a community.

Best of all, we made new friends, exchanged ideas, and spent an evening surrounded by people who love learning and connecting with nature.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made our first workshop such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next one at Garden & Grace Urban Farm & Community Garden.

The farm is buzzing with last-minute preparations as we get everything ready for tonight’s Roots & Remedies workshop! Fresh herbs are harvested, pesto is made, mocktails are chilled, and every seat is waiting for a new friend. We can’t wait to share a little bit of Garden & Grace with you. 🌿💚

We were excited to welcome our newest intern, Payton Groetsch, to Garden & Grace yesterday! 🌿 Payton is a business student at Southeastern Louisiana University with a true green thumb, incredible smile, and positive attitude that brightens the farm.

On day one, she headed out to forage for moss to add a natural touch to the border of our pond. A perfect example of the creativity and hands on learning that happens here every day.

We’re looking forward to seeing all the wonderful things we’ll grow together. Welcome to the team, payton 🌀 💚🌱
