The living room and primary bedroom at our Hell’s Kitchen apartment both benefit from the massive windows and 13’ ceilings left over from the space’s previous life as classrooms. We leaned into those qualities with new window mullions finished to match the window frames, pendants to balance how the tall volumes are occupied, and a new monopoint lighting system to compliment the owner’s art collection.

We selected quarter sawn walnut panels for the custom millwork in our Hell’s Kitchen apartment and applied a subtle desaturating stain. The office/guest bedroom millwork includes open adjustable shelving for books and decorative objects, a well-concealed Murphy bed, and closed cabinets for miscellaneous storage. The foyer bench has storage above and below. Both incorporate a ladder rail and hardware from MWE and a custom built wood ladder for access to high storage.
