ikon.5 was honored to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Pierce Reading Room renovation at Georgetown University’s Lauinger Library. The renovation transforms a traditional reading room into a contemporary learning environment that allows for maximum flexibility and provides users with collaborative workspaces, a digital scholarship lab with large format video wall, and improved access to Georgetown’s vast special collections. The addition of glazing, which replaces portions of the exterior concrete panel walls, offers patrons views to the Potomac River and increases natural daylight for comfort and wellbeing.
