Update on the very cool reclaimed gymnasium floor I posted the other day. Lots of those colors other than the blue were tape. I had intended on restoring as is, but we had the sander rented and it was removing all the paint. So easier to strip and repaint. Then I just said “F* it” and painted a whole other design.

I want to share my very cool reclaimed gymnasium floor purchased from Wilsons Yard. It came from Romania originally. Love it, but when it came to sprucing it up, it would’ve been too time consuming to sand the paint and maple evenly enough to keep it all as seen here. Stay tuned for an updated version inspired by this gym’s colors!

Damp proofing and concrete pour! Seems like we’ve been doing demolition for months, but today was a big step towards building back. We found rotted wood joists under the flooring, so we decided to take them out and go with concrete instead. We will have wood flooring on top of this.
