So much love ❤️ 🫂 ! This Hamburg dinner with got us emotional.

We are endlessly grateful for our network: our former speakers, our partners, the people who have trusted us along the way. So many of them have become close friends and even part of our extended family. That is the truly AnA feeling: human connection at its most real.

This week, we gathered close friends and former speakers in the city where this format was born, people we have known in many cases since 2015, when AnA was taking its very first steps. Ten years of events have brought so many remarkable human beings into our lives. There are many more who could have joined us. We are grateful for all of it, and for the new partnership with , which began with this beautiful first experience together.

With love,
The founders and

Part 2 of Eva Jiřičná’s drawing about how architects work and its design process.

Eva told also a funny story. For the Queen’s anniversary, all academicians were asked to draw a picture for the Queen. Eva drew this diagram. They gave her two sheets of paper. The better one went to the Queen’s album. The second one went to auction. The Royal Academy got fifty thousand pounds because so many people obviously felt that was exactly how they do it.

Eva Jiřičná, founder of .design, is a pioneering Czech-born architect based in London.

Representation matters – by Tosin Oshinowo .oshinowo

Tosin Oshinowo grew up without many examples of architects who looked like her and were doing exceptionally well. That absence shaped her sense of purpose. She is deeply mindful of the responsibility she now holds. She makes time to give back, to be visible, to show another young girl that it can be done. Representation is not abstract. It’s seeing someone who looks like you and knowing the path is real.

Tosin is the founder of .studio, and one of the leading voices in contemporary African architecture, known for work rooted in identity, tradition, and resilience.

We love strong women. 🤩
AnA co-founder, , asked Tosin Oshinowo .oshinowo and Eva Jiřičná .design a direct question. Why is a strong woman quickly tagged as crazy or difficult? Tosin defers to Eva, and Eva’s response is immediate and unapologetic. “I don’t care to be honest.” Laughter fills the space.

Eva Jiřičná is a Czech-born architect and designer based in London, a trailblazer known for her innovative use of glass and steel. She has built a decades-long career in a male-dominated profession, designing everything from iconic interiors to public infrastructure. Tosin Oshinowo is the founder of .studio, and one of the leading voices in contemporary African architecture.

Questioning, in order to rethink the future – by Tosin Oshinowo .oshinowo

For Nigerian architect Tosin Oshinowo, founder of .studio, rethinking the present starts with questioning the past. What if the last 400 years have taken us further away from balance with the environment?

She challenges how architectural education has been shaped, and invites us to open our minds to other ways of thinking, including the wisdom embedded in precolonial traditions and indigenous knowledge.

▶️ Tosin shared this insight at our event in London. Her full talk is available on our website under “Archive” or via the link in our bio. Comment or DM us if you’d like the direct link.

What is your definition of success? For Moshe Safdie, it’s not about awards or applause at the opening. The true measure comes decades later. If a building is still serving people, still alive and loved after 20, 40, or even 50 years. That’s success.

From Habitat 67 to Marina Bay Sands and the Jewel Changi Airport, Moshe Safdie has shaped cities around the world with architecture that endures. He believes the true legacy of a project lies in how it lives on over time.
