One of my favorite quotes by the late John Saladino has stayed with me throughout my career:

"A home is more than a mere shelter. It should lift us emotionally and spiritually."

I've always believed that to be true.

It's the philosophy that guides every home we design, and it's something I'm deeply grateful to experience every day in my own little Spanish bungalow.

When a home is thoughtfully designed, it doesn't just look beautiful—it changes the way you feel. It welcomes you, restores you, and becomes a place where you can truly be yourself.

That is, and always will be, the heart of great design.

Summer has a way of reminding us to slow down and enjoy the little things. Quiet mornings, slow-paced afternoons, a good book, an open window, or simply taking a few extra moments to enjoy being at home. As the season begins to wind down, we’re soaking in these slower days and all the simple moments that make summer feel so special. 🤍

Home is so much more than beautiful furnishings or perfectly styled rooms.

It's where you gather with the people you love.
Where you celebrate life's biggest moments.
Where you find comfort after the hardest days.
Where you rest, restore, and simply exhale.

I've always believed that the most meaningful homes aren't defined by trends or square footage, they're defined by how they make you feel.

That's why every home we design begins with one question:

How do you want to feel when you walk through the front door?

Because great design isn't just something you see.
It's something you live.

❤️ Jess

The Feeling of Home: A Bedroom That Restores

Your bedroom should be the place where the day softens. A space that feels calm the moment you walk in—where layers of beautiful textiles, gentle lighting, natural materials, and the things you love create a sense of comfort and ease.

We love designing bedrooms that feel like a true retreat from the outside world. A place to slow down, curl up with a good book, rest deeply, and begin each new day feeling restored.

Because home isn't only about how a space looks. It's about creating rooms that take care of you, too.

Four years ago, I attended the Floral Park Home & Garden Tour as a guest and fell completely in love with this neighborhood.

I remember leaving that day thinking, "I want to live here."

So I prayed. I journaled. I got incredibly specific about the home I hoped to find.

Just a few weeks later, I found this little 1929 Spanish bungalow.

This morning, during my prayers, I found myself saying, "Thank You that every day I come home to a hug from this home."

That simple thought stopped me in my tracks.

Home is so much more than walls and a roof. It's where we exhale. Where we're restored. Where life unfolds. It's why I believe great design isn't just about creating beautiful spaces—it's about creating homes that embrace the people who live in them.

I'm so grateful this little Spanish bungalow found me. ❤️

A home should be a place that restores you. When I design a home, I'm thinking beyond how it looks. I'm thinking about how it feels.

For me, the living room is the heart of the home. It's where families gather, conversations unfold, and everyday moments become lasting memories.

I never want a space to feel decorated or staged. It should feel collected, personal, and lived in—a reflection of the people who call it home.

My hope is that when you walk into your home, it's a place where you can truly exhale... a space that invites you to sit, stay, and linger just a little longer.

Because the best homes don't just look beautiful. They make you feel at home.
✨ A home that nurtures and inspires.

The Feeling of Home: A Bath That Feels Like a Sanctuary 🤍

The bathroom is one of the few places in our homes where we can truly close the door, quiet the outside world, and take a moment for ourselves. Soft lighting, natural materials, warm textures, and a beautiful soaking tub can turn an everyday routine into something restorative.

We love creating bathrooms that feel like a sanctuary—a place to begin the day feeling grounded and end it feeling restored. Because the feeling of home is also about having spaces that allow you to simply slow down and breathe.

The Feeling of Home: Sunday Rest

There’s something special about the slower pace of a Sunday. Sunlight filtering through the windows, the smell of coffee, a favorite book within reach, and nowhere you need to be.

A well-designed home does more than look beautiful—it gives you permission to pause. It creates spaces where you can unwind, reconnect with yourself, and recharge for the week ahead.

Because sometimes, the greatest luxury isn't what's in your home. It's how your home makes you feel.

Wishing you a Sunday filled with rest, comfort, and all the simple moments that make a house feel like home.

Every Room Has an Energy.

Think about how different rooms make you feel. Some instantly invite you to slow down. Others encourage conversation, creativity, or quiet reflection. That's because our homes are constantly communicating with us—through light, texture, color, scale, and the way a space flows.

A bedroom should restore. A kitchen should gather. A living room should welcome. Even an entryway has the power to shift your mindset, helping you leave the outside world behind and feel at home.

Thoughtful design isn't about making every room look the same—it's about giving each space a purpose and a feeling. When every room supports the way you want to live, your home becomes more than a beautiful place. It becomes a place that restores you, every single day.

Summer is in full swing, and while we all love the sunshine and beautiful views, it's what those views bring into our homes that matters most. ☀️

Natural light, fresh air, living greenery, and a seamless connection to the outdoors have a remarkable way of changing how we feel. They help us slow down, reduce stress, and create a greater sense of calm and well-being. That's why we love designing homes that blur the line between indoors and out—spaces that invite nature in and make everyday living feel a little lighter, brighter, and more restorative.

To us, great design isn't just about what you see. It's about how a space makes you feel. 🤍
