Mr Fox buffed up nicely, and another button with the name of my home town of Fakenham on it, that's the second one now.
Buttons back in the day used to have personalities of their own. Tiny works of art, with flowers, animals, geometric patterns, names and places pressed into metal and made to last. Even the smallest details of clothes seemed to carry a bit of character back then. Today theyβre mostly plain, plastic and dull to look at. Buttons are the most common artefact that I dig up, many are more than "just a button"
I like to think of the common button as a little survivors, with stories stitched into them.
The barrel cleaner is getting put to work , I'm loving the results.
