Arkansas trees face several diseases that can weaken or kill them if caught too late. Knowing the warning signs can help protect your property and your trees.

• Oak Wilt – Causes leaves to brown and drop quickly. This disease spreads fast and can kill an oak in a single season.
• Hypoxylon Canker – Often attacks stressed oak trees during drought or extreme heat. Look for peeling bark and silvery patches on the trunk.
• Anthracnose – A fungal disease that causes dark spots, leaf curling, and early leaf drop on species like sycamore, maple, and dogwood.
• Ganoderma Root Rot – A serious root disease that weakens a tree’s structure and can cause sudden failure.
