My Work Here Is DONE!
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE FINISHED PRODUCT.
I've been waiting to post this for about two months; when my part was complete.
I can't wait to see the finished product at the beginning of 2021.
A Marine Corps brother of mine shot me a message (at the end of July) that he was wanting to do something different with his shop.
We ran some ideas back and forth coming up with a 20x12 shop door w/2' of highlift in the front for all of his toys and a 5x3 full view bar top door for the back leading to the pool.
He shot me a message asking if I had a foundation person because his guy was to busy (Sept 3rd).
I put a message out to my network and Hugo Hernandez responded instantly. I connected Hugo and Gunner Reeder and the ball was rolling.
This is what I didn't know. Gunner was going to build the shop himself and all of the cool framing on the inside (we'll get to that at the end of the post).
October 9th rolled around and the shop was up.
SITE CHECK TIME!!!
12' high with 2' of high lift was a "no go" because I didn't know and he didn't realize the pitch on the right and left sides.
NO highlift and spec change to 20x10, which is still awesome but, not as epic. I digress.
I was somewhat concerned if the bolts that hold the frame together were going to be strong enough to support the weight of the door.
There was no steel beams or C channel in this building so basically, as I opened it, I was praying.
Every sound I heard made me think this big Mf'er was coming down but, apparently Canadians know how to engineer a building (Kyle Hart)
Pics show the progress of the framing.
Today we finished up the final piece, the full view.
An OSHA manual burst in to flames somewhere with this one but, that's a story for another day.
Now, imagine this, he is going to build a second floor living area and cabinets around the springline.
This "shop" is the most perfect discreption of a mullet ever, "business up front, party in the back".
