Lincoln NH Short-term rentals
I spoke with a number of clients that run short-term-rentals in Lincoln. There is a web-page with info about registering them with the town: https://www.lincolnnh.org/short-term-rental-department-all-you-need-to-know
Additionally, there is an informational hearing on 10 Jan 2024 about possible changes:
On August 23, 2023, a majority of the Planning Board (Paul Beaudin, Jim Spanos, and Joe Chenard) voted against having any discussion related to adding any new restrictions Short Term Rentals (like AirBnb) to the Town’s Land Use Plan Ordinance.
The Town of Lincoln Board of Selectmen have heard MANY local residents complain about the number of residential houses that are being converted to short term rental units and how this has a negative effect on the neighborhood and the Town.
The Board believes this is an issue the Town’s voters should decide, not three members of the Planning Board. In order to allow the residents of Lincoln to weigh in on this proposal, the Board of Selectmen have drafted a proposed amendment on this issue to be placed on the Town Warrant for a vote in March.
The proposed amendment to the Town’s Land Use Plan Ordinance would limit short term rentals to the General Use, Village Center, and Mountain Residential zones. It would not allow any further short term rentals to be established in the General Residential, Village Residential, or Rural Residential Zones.
In addition, the proposal adds further requirements and regulations that address noise, parking, and overcrowding. As required by State law, all existing registered Short Term Rental units will be grandfathered.
The Planning Board will hold a public hearing on this proposed ordinance on Wednesday, January 10 at 6:00 pm.
Residents and taxpayers are encouraged to come to these hearings, learn about the proposed ordinance, ask questions, and express their opinions.
