Edited vs Reality

What's behind my small business?

Most likely dirty dishes, sticky fingers, and misc toys.

Never trust what you see on social media.... It's not usually the true story.

I chose to step back from my business this summer to refocus on family, health, and MOVING!

This summer we will finally move onto our new farmstead. I will continue to grow, and focus on blooms and events I truly want to do.

I am so excited to fill the roadside stand and start to host small and private events! (Hopefully I can get that calendar figured out soon!)

I've been living in a dream. The last two weeks my husband and I took a once in a lifetime trip to Japan.

To say it was incredible is to put it lightly.

The entire trip I was inspired by the history of flower arranging in Japan. Their arrangements are peak perfection.

The colors and flowers combos inspired me to create this season. The flow and blending of emotions could be felt, it was like viewing art. Because it was.

Also, every hotel we stayed at had a florist IN HOUSE! Like what!?! They truly value floral art in their country and it showed.

Missing Japan majorly, but happy to be home and rested with my family.

What a great way to jumpstart my season!

I have the honor of being a part of this great organization in Education MTSM. They are a great non profit working to support the students and community of MTSM Schools, Martensdale, St. Mary's, Bevington, Prole, and Norwalk!

This year they are raising money to build a new playground for the elementary school at MTSM. I was able to decorate tables for their charity event Decades of Devil Pride tonight!

Check out their silent auction! Let's sell it out! Also bid on a super fun night at Marguerite Farms! Margaritas and MooMoos is a private night with 12 people picking flowers, jamming to your favorite tunes, and drinking margaritas. Oh, and it's all while wearing your favorite pajamas!

Woah, it's been a while!

Let me start this post with I have been putting it off for a while. Trying to wait until the last moment to make a final decision. 

 This year at Marguerite Farms is going to look very different. I have made the difficult decision to not offer my subscription program or book any events this season. Many things factor into this decision, but it comes down to that my family and health need to be made my primary focus this season. 

   I am unfortunately still struggling with complications from long Covid. I am in the care of many physicians. Unfortunately much of it is still unknown at this time so trial and error to see what works. All your love and support is greatly appreciated. If you or anyone you know is struggling with Long Covid symptoms, send them my way I would love to share information.

   We are also in the process of finishing up the build of our new home on site of the farm. Our move date is still tentative. But we will be in by the end of the summer. Not being on property yet has limited my access to getting the farm ready this season. 

   But the bright side is I am still working towards the future! With the move insight this year, and my health continues to improve things could not be brighter for the future of my small endeavor. 

I plan to put all my energy into establishing a beautiful place to grow and gather. I will still grow what I can this season, and keep my road side stand open. I will still welcome special orders as well. My plan is to do what I can and let the farm naturally flow this season and not put so much pressure on it to produce. 

For my subscribers! Your rate will always be grandfathered in, and when I am able to offer it again you existing rates will be honored. 

Again, I cannot thank you all enough for helping me get this far. Sometimes a break is what you need. I am manifesting positivity, growth, and clarity to continue to grow this dream of mine. My vision is there, now it's time to reorganize and execute it.

More from the beautiful garden wedding The Prelude! I still cannot get over how beautiful
this venue is!
Pictured above was an arrangement done for a welcome area, followed by large floor arrangements to frame the head table. On the reception tables we did a variation of bud vases, and then a large low profile centerpiece for the head table.
Finally for the bride and bridal party! We did petit bouquets for the bridesmaids and a large bridal for her!

This past winter I hired my first full time employee! Meet Magnolia, my sweet mama kitty. She brought her two kids and two brothers with her too!
Your math is correct. I took in 5 kitties in need of a permanent residence.
I had a serious mouse infestation in my work shed and did not want to use poison on the property for a multitude of reasons. So I reached out to who connected me with an amazing woman who was fostering this mini feral colony. They trapped, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered this bunch of kitties and put them on the path to their forever home at Marguerite Farms.
I am incredibly thankful for the work they do for the community.
I am also completely mouse and rabbit free ✌️

Flowers are finally blooming at Marguerite Farms!
I know I'm not the only flower farmer who will say this, but it was a ROUGH spring. It was unseasonally warm and dry with major losses all across the US.
I am still working hard to make our first year on our new property a success. Expect lots of building and growth this year!

Last week was my first wedding of the season! It was such a dream to work on this project! When the bride and groom came to me with their inspiration photos and garden themed wedding I could not wait to start designing!
I had the honor of bringing part of their dream wedding to life. It turned out beautiful, if I don't say so myself.
Also! Have you seen this venue! Holy canoli I was in total awe. If you haven't checked out you definitely should!

Spending the day at Wesley Woods Camp and Retreat Center sharing my knowledge on soil blocking! What a beautiful day to be outside and join their women's retreat this weekend.

Wait, what's soil blocking? It's a technique used to start seeds that doesn't require a pot! Say what!?

I use a special punch to create a mold of soil to place seeds in! It's a great technique to use to save space, and creates incredible root growth!
