My goal is to provide the most nutrient dense without any pesticides, fungicides or synthetic fertilizers ever added.

Unfortunately the drought had a huge impact on the onions this year. Very small. They will still taste great but just not the size I have been used to in the past.

This is the garlic harvest. Now they will be cured for 3 weeks in the garage and then they will be ready for long term storage. The large bulbs will be used for replanting in the fall, the small bulbs will be used for personal use and the medium bulbs will be sold in my Farm Stand. This year’s drought had an impact on the sizes.

Garlic was harvested today from these 10 rows. Now the soil was remineralized with Azomite, Basalt and Gypsum. A diverse mix of cover crop was planted and will be there until fall planting. This helps with soil structure and increased soil biology.

Blackberries are starting to ripen. The way I freeze them is to put them on a tray and freeze them first. This way they won’t clump together in the bags. This tray made 3 bags of 10 oz each.

The More You Know. Cucumbers come in three basic categories based on the type of flowers they produce. Gynoecious varieties have only female flowers but need male flowers to pollinate. Partenocarpic varieties do not require pollination. And finally Monoecious varieties have both male and female flowers and can be pollinated by the male flowers on the same plant. I like to grow Partenocarpic varieties like a Merlin since they are seedless and I don’t have to worry about pollination. Plus they taste great.

Many ways to trellis tomatoes. I use the individual string method for my two types. The shorter one is for determinate varieties and the taller one is for the indeterminate ones. I also use an archway just for my cherry tomatoes which makes them easier to pick.
